Last Monday I spent the day at a German Pumpkin Patch. Apparently there’s only 4 authentic American pumpkin patches in Germany. Hence we got super lucky having found one that was actually super close from where we live. For all my German babes or expats staying in Germany keep scrolling to find out where it is exactly.
I posted these cinnamon rolls a while ago on my insta stories and it was highly requested ever since from me to post the recipe. I used to always love my grandma’s cinnamon rolls but after being diagnosed with gluten as well as lactose intolerance I could not eat them anymore without feeling super sick and bloated afterwards. The downfall of a gluten and lactose intolerance is that the more you shy away from wheat and dairy the more intolerant you become.
I still have this ringing sound in my right ear and I’m still not entirely sure where it’s coming from. That’s why I’m going to see a physician tomorrow. pretty sure, though, it’s just a cold and nothing too serious. But, per usual in true Caroline fashion, I’m trying everything on my end to heal as fast as possible. So here’s my recipe for a low glycemic green smoothie recipe.
It’s the first full moon to fall on a Friday the 13th in 13 years. Spooked? Don’t be. According to some witches and astrologers, the number 13 is auspicious — we have 13 full moons and 13 menstrual cycles in a year. So a full moon that falls on Friday the 13th is a special, powerful time. Today we might feel flooded with our emotions today and you might find yourself in some DEEP and honest conversations with friends and loved ones, approach it from a place of love and you’ll have the space to reach new growth levels in your relationships.
My daily wellness routine is what helps me show up as my best self. In fact, whenever I feel like I’m falling off the wagon I try to anchor back into these healthy habits (list below). Wellness for me doesn’t have to be something big, like a SPA weekend. Sure, that’s nice, too, but for me wellness starts with the little things I can incorporate on daily basis. Moreover I believe this routine is ultimately what is keeping me sane in this fast-paced world we’re living in.
If you follow me on instagram I probably already know that I’ve had a rough couple of weeks. Usually I’ll always put a smile on my face and then the negative emotions eventually fade. This time around, however, this didn’t work anymore (probably because I had unconsciously been suppressing these emotions by putting a smile on in the first place. One of my favorite spiritual teacher Candance van Dell always says “Get real on how you feel to heal.” which is what I am currently doing. And let me tell you IT.IS.HARD! But I’m also already seeing the benefits.
Forgiveness is a trickier thing than most people think. You can say a thousand times “I want to forgive you!” but it won’t stick. The inability to forgive or plain THE RESENTMENT is what is keeping you stuck. By resenting and blaming other people for our misfortune we unconsciously give our power away and that’s what makes it feel so heavy. ⠀
Looooove me some oat milk coffee. I sometimes even think about it before I go to bed. It honestly sometimes makes me look forward to waking up early in the am, ceasing the day. But there’s some legitimate resources out there claiming that we should all reduce our intake of coffee. And I do agree. However, do we really need to quit all together or is there another way, as in becoming friends with coffee again? I think so! Learn all about my healing relationship with coffee below 💤
I know it’s been super quiet on my blog lately and I apologize for that. I love writing and editing but I just wasn’t in the right headspace and did not know what to say. Many of you know that I was struggling with my health a lot in the past 4 years and had have multiple surgeries done. I also got diagnosed with multiple autoimmune issues which one of them was endometriosis.
Many of you know that I had been suffering from tremendous lower stomach pain, especially during my period, due to endometriosis. Read more about my personal story with endometriosis here. Fortunately there’s many things you can do to reduce this pain. With or without a chronic condition lower stomach pain can occur in the most uncomfortable moments, brining along sooo much stress. That is why I have been wearing special period undies for about 6 months now. And trust me when I say, THEY ARE A TOTAL GAME CHANGER!
Ever since my first period I’ve experienced lower stomach pain and heavy bleeding. So my gynecologist prescribed me the pill very early on. Even though I was on birth control for almost 10 years I still had awful period pain and my body started holding fluids. When I was 23 I decided to get a chopper IUD. After a year of trying very hard to make the IDU work I had it removed because the pain was just too bad.
Stretching and tuning into the body and breath has always been a great passion of mine. As a kid I used to do ballet and later in High School I was part of the varsity cheerleading squad. In 2014 I discovered my love for yoga when I was going through a rough time. Yoga helped me to overcome this dark episode of my life so I can now enjoy life at its fullest and ultimately live a joyful life filled with love.
About 4 weeks ago I posted that I stopped taking synthetic hormones because of the severe side-effects that came along with them. Now I might have to note that I didn’t take synthetic hormones for contraceptive measures but because I have a disease, called endometriosis. If you are new here might as well want to check out previous posts on that topic, like ‘my personal endo story’. I am personally not a big fan of any form of meds and would rather heal everything naturally but after my second surgery due to severe endometriosis I felt like I was forced to…
METHOD: Put all the crust ingredients in the blender and mix it all up, you are supposed to end up with some sort of dough. Put it in a baking pan. From here you can go ahead and bake this dough for 10 minutes in a preheated oven or you can just leave it raw. Clean your blender and then put the ingredients for the topping in. You should end up with a cheesecake-looking texture. Pour the topping on top of the crust and put the whole thing in the freezer for a day. Put it out at least 2 hours before you intend to eat this half frozen yumminess of a cheesecake.
